Where Do Missing Dice Go?

The idea began with a simple late-night question: where do the dice from board games disappear when they roll under furniture?

Instead of treating it as coincidence, I imagined a world where they never disappeared at all. What if they simply walked away?

That question became the foundation for this project. What started as a passing thought evolved into a character, an environment, and a story about a curious creature living just beyond human attention.

Character Design & Development

The character evolved through multiple iterations of leg structure and movement. I explored different silhouettes and proportions before arriving at a design that felt curious, agile and expressive while still retaining the recognizable form of a dice.

Building a World Around a Creature

Once the character began to take shape, I started asking questions about the world it inhabited. Where did it come from? What existed beyond the frame? How many others like it were hiding beneath furniture and forgotten corners of a room?

Rather than treating the environment as a backdrop, I approached it as an extension of the story. Every element was designed to support the idea of a hidden world existing in the places we stop looking.

Bringing the Character to Life

This project marked my first complete walk cycle and my first attempt at sound design. My goal was not simply to animate movement, but to give the character a personality. Small details such as hesitation, curiosity and rhythm helped transform the creature from an object into something that felt alive.
